Snow and Ice

Today we started out with some freezing rain. It then turned into snow. It then turned into ice and snow and well - you get the picture. It is still snowing tonight and I expect driving to work tomorrow will not be very fun.

I know we want a white christmas but I think I could have done without all this weather.

Getting Ready for Snow

Today was much warmer then yesterday. However the forecast looks like we will see some ice and snow tomorrow. I am not looking forward to this winter weather.

Karen is home tonight and is able to relax for a change.

Cold Rainy Day

Today the weather turned colder and it rained off and on all day. I kept thinking we would see some snow but I guess it just didn't quite get cold enough for snow.

Tonight Karen and I went to the Catfish House for Dinner. After dinner, Karen shopped in Clarksville and Hopkinsville and found several bargins.

Mom's Birthday

Mom turned 74 on October 19th this year. I decided to take the day off and spend the day with her.

We spent the day talking at home.

Mom fixed mashed potatoes, lima beans and tomatoes. I went and got us sliced and chopped mutton.

Sister and Roger joined us for lunch also.

It was good just to spend the day with my mom.

Owensboro Visit

I went to visit my parents and brother in Owensboro on Sunday. We got a chicken from Moonlight and then spent the afternoon watching football, talking and just enjoying being together. The sun was out and so the weather was good also.

Straw Ride

Karen and I took the girls (Lauern and Callie) to a Hay (I am straw ride) at the Oatts's farm on Saturday. We roasted hot dogs, rode the pattle boats, rode on the big 18 wheeler (which I fell off of when getting off) and generally just froze to death after dark.

Everyone appeared to have a good time. I think the best part was when everyone else was eating and Lauern when off with pattle boat round and round the lake having the best time.

Vacation Day

I took a vacation day on Thursday after I had finished all of my tests. I relaxed at home, mowed the yard and took a break from all of the problems at work. I had a great day to be off and really enjoyed my time off.

Breakfast with Lauern

I went with Lauern to her school this morning for donuts and fruit punch. I was surprised at the low turnout of dad's with their kids at school this morning. Lauern was excited because she won a set of screwdrivers. All in all, I was happy to go with her.

Salmon Patties

Karen and I went to have dinner at her mom and dad tonight. We had the infamous Salmon Patties, mashed potatoes, slaw and roles. I brought a piece of steak from Charlie's to have. We had to leave early so Karen could study for her accounting class for Tursday night

Karen's Birthday

Today was Karen's birthday. She said that she had several friends to call to wish her a happy birthday. She got several cards. I gave her a wallet that she had seen at the Social Butterfly. I also gave her some money.

Tonight, I took her to dinner at Charlie's. We enjoyed sharing a T-Bone steak together.

New SUV for Karen

Karen bought a 2003 Honda CR V today. She is pretty excited and is looking forward to drving it after I take care of the insurance tomorrow.

Spanish Class in Clarksville

We had our last Spanish class last night. I have enjoyed learning a lot of things but am glad to have my Monday or Tueday nights back at home again. The instructor did a great job as a teacher and always managed to make the class intresting. We will have a final dinner together as a class on next Monday night at 6pm.

Honda CR-V

Karen is looking at a Honda CR-V. I like the one she looked at but have a concern about a shimmy when it gets up to highway speed. I will take the CR-V back to the dealer and see if they can correct the problem.

Father's Day

I went to Owensboro to visit my father on Father's day. We went with the rest of my family to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. We all had a good time. In the afternoon, dad got me a kitten for Callie. She was very excited and acted like she really enjoyed her new pet.

After dinner Karen and I enjoyed home made cheesecake with the Smallings across the street. It was very peaceful to sit out at night under the stars.

Rain

It seems that we continue to get rain and more rain. I wonder how long it will be before we get a day of sunshine with no rain.

At least we have not had any bad winds or damage due to the weather.

Vacation

Karen and I are back from Vacation in Orlando. We had a great time. We set by the pool every day and enjoyed the great weather we had. For once I did not spend too much money. This has been one of the best trips I have ever had.

Trip to Florida

Karen and I leave for Florida today. We are both looking forward to this trip. Work has been really stressful the last few months and so a few days in the sun will hopefully recharge our batteries. I am also intrested in the Cingular coverage in Florida and how well my Treo works down there.

Treo 600 Firmware Update

I installed the Treo 600 firmware update last night. I did not have any problems with the install. The biggest thing I see is that the network selection has been taken away from the phone side when a Cingular SIM is isntalled. I think the GPRS is slightly faster and the battery life may also be slightly better.

At least palm one did release a firmware update that we could install and not wait for the cellular provider to have it (like Verizon and the 7135).

New Case for Treo

I received a new case for my Treo 600 today. It appears to be good case for this phone. I also have access to the buttons and controls much easier then with my last case. I think I will keep this case.

My first Entry
